This page covers the website. How I handle your business files when we work together is explained separately, before we start.
Who I am
This website is run by Opposable Games Limited (company no. 07787838), trading as Opposable.AI. ICO registration number: ZB014563.

What I collect and why
| What | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Your name, business name, email, phone, and what you tell me when you book (collected through Cal.com) | To arrange and hold the call, and to follow up afterwards | 7 years after we were last in touch |
| If you book for an organisation: your job title, the organisation's registered name and its company number, charity number or school URN, and roughly how many people you're thinking of (collected through Cal.com) | To check who I'm dealing with before the call | 7 years after we were last in touch |
| When you accept an order form on your private page: the name and position you type, the email address you signed in with, the time, when you entered the code that signed you in, and a fingerprint of the order form and Terms of Business you accepted (not your IP address or browser) | As the record of our agreement, and to send you a copy | 7 years after we were last in touch |
| When you open your private page: a six-digit code emailed to you first, to check it's you. I keep only a scrambled check value of the code, for 15 minutes, and when the page was last signed in to | So only you can open your page, and only the person named on an order form can accept it | 15 minutes (the code); the date as long as your page |
| If you choose Email me this result on the savings calculator: your email address, the figures you entered (the hours on each job, your working week, how you keep your records, your turnover, what an hour of your time is worth, and the growth figure), your business type and how many people work for you if you gave them, the result, and when | To email you your result, keep it on your own private page here, and have it in front of me if you book a call. I'm told by email that a result was sent, with your address partly hidden | If you never open your page with the emailed code, deleted after 30 days. If you do, 12 months after you last opened your page or sent yourself a result. If you book a call, as the rest of your page (7 years after we were last in touch) |
| If you choose Download as PDF on the savings calculator: the figures you entered, sent to the website only to make your PDF | So you can save or print your result without giving me your email address | Not kept. The PDF is made and sent straight back to your browser, and nothing you entered is saved |
| If you tick Send me a useful tip now and then: that you said yes, when, and the exact words you agreed to | So I can send them if I start, and show you asked. None are sent yet: this page will name the mailing service before the first one. You can turn them off at any time on your private page | Until you turn them off, or your details are deleted as above |
| Invoices: your name, business name, email address, what was invoiced, and whether it's been paid. Held in Xero, my accounts software, and listed on your private page | To bill you, to give you a VAT invoice for your records, and to keep my accounts | At least 6 years, as tax law requires. They stay even if your private page is deleted |
| Payment details | Taken and held by Stripe, not by me, whether you pay when booking or with Pay now on an invoice. I see that you've paid, not your card or bank details | Stripe's own terms |
| A record of the emails the website sends you: which email, and when (not what it said) | To check an email went out, if you tell me it didn't arrive | 7 years after we were last in touch, or, if you've only used the calculator, as long as your result (above) |
| Documents and files I prepare or share with you (for example Before our call), a short list of what we've agreed, and results you've emailed yourself from the calculator, kept on a private page that opens only with a code emailed to you | So you can download them and see what's next | 7 years after we were last in touch, then deleted |
| Files you send me through your private page | So I can use them in our work. They're moved off the website into my records for your business, and can't be downloaded from the page again | Moved off the website within a day; kept with your records for 7 years after we were last in touch |
| Basic visit statistics (pages viewed, the site you came from, rough location, device type), collected by Umami without cookies and without identifying you | To see whether the site is working and how people find it | Up to 6 months (Umami's free plan) |
| If you reach the site from one of my Google ads, and you accept marketing cookies: that you clicked the ad, and whether you went on to book a call. Google collects this with its own cookies and your device's details; I see only totals in my Google Ads account, never who you are | To see whether the ads lead to bookings, so I don't pay for ads that don't work | Up to 90 days in the cookie; Google keeps its records under its own terms |
"Last in touch" means the last booking, call, visit, or document or file passed between us. Using the calculator alone keeps a record only for as long as the calculator row above says. Backups of the website are kept for up to 12 months, so something deleted can remain in a backup that long. Invoices and payment records are kept as long as the law requires, even after the rest is deleted.
I don't sell your details, and I don't use them for anything else. I won't add you to a mailing list unless you tick the box for tips on the calculator, and you can turn them off at any time on your private page or by emailing [email protected]. I don't send your name, email or anything you type to Google, and I don't use Google to follow you round other websites with ads.
Emails from the website
The website sends you some emails without my checking each one first, because they're always the same: the link to your private page when you book the call, the code to open it when you ask for one, your result and the link to your page when you choose Email me this result on the calculator, and a "Payment received" note when you pay an invoice. If you get a calculator result you didn't ask for, someone typed your address by mistake: you can ignore it, and it's deleted after 30 days. They come from [email protected]; replies go to me at [email protected]. Your invoices themselves come from Xero, my accounts software.
Who else handles it
- Cal.com: the booking system. It shows the free times, takes your details and sends the confirmation.
- Stripe: takes payment for the call (through Cal.com) and for invoices (through Xero's Pay now).
- Xero (Xero Limited): my accounts software. It holds and numbers your invoices and emails them to you.
- Amazon Web Services (London): runs the website and sends its emails. Cloudflare protects the website, delivers it to you, and forwards email sent to [email protected] to me.
- Cookiebot (Usercentrics A/S): shows the cookie banner and remembers your choice.
- Umami (Umami Software, Inc.): counts visits, without cookies. Its servers are in the US and the EU.
- Google Calendar: holds the booking in my calendar, connected to Cal.com.
- Google Ads (Google Ireland Limited): shows my ads in Google search, and, only if you accept marketing cookies, tells me whether a click on an ad led to a booking. Google uses this under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy), and may transfer it outside the UK.
Cookies
Most of this site's cookies are ones it needs to work. The booking boxes on the two booking pages (Book a call, and the call for organisations) are provided by Cal.com, which sets its own cookies to make them work. Cal.com's cookies are set only on those two booking pages. Visit statistics are counted without cookies. The savings calculator keeps the figures you enter in your browser until you close the tab (session storage), so it and the home page can show them while you're here; they're only sent to the website if you choose Email me this result or Download as PDF (which keeps nothing), and Start again forgets them.
Marketing cookies (Google Ads) are only set if you accept them. I advertise on Google, and Google's tag on this site uses cookies to tell me whether someone who clicked an ad went on to book a call. If you decline marketing cookies, or ignore the banner, they aren't set and nothing about your visit is sent to Google for advertising; the site and the booking work just the same. I don't use advertising cookies to show you ads elsewhere.
The first time you visit, a cookie banner (from Cookiebot) asks for your choice and remembers it; you can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.
| Cookie | Set by | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
CookieConsent |
Cookiebot | Remembers your cookie choice, so the banner doesn't ask again | 1 year |
oai_page_… |
This website (only on your private page) | Keeps you signed in to your private page after you've entered the emailed code, so it doesn't ask every time | 90 days, or until you sign out |
oai_form |
This website (only on the site owner's sign-in page) | Security for the owner's sign-in form. Visitors to the rest of the site never get it | Until you close the browser |
__cf_bm |
Cal.com (Cloudflare) | Bot protection, so the booking box isn't abused | Up to a day |
__Secure-next-auth.csrf-token |
Cal.com | Security for the booking form | Until you close the browser |
__Secure-next-auth.callback-url |
Cal.com | Security for the booking form | Until you close the browser |
| Local storage (not a cookie) | Cal.com | Remembers the time you picked and whether you use a 12 or 24-hour clock, and keeps the booking box's sign-in state in step across browser tabs | Until cleared |
| Stripe cookies | Stripe | Payment and fraud checks, at the payment step only | Stripe's own terms |
_gcl_au |
Google Ads (only if you accept marketing cookies) | Links a visit to an ad click, so I can count bookings that came from an ad | 90 days |
_gcl_aw |
Google Ads (only if you accept marketing cookies, and only if you came from one of my ads) | Holds the ad click's reference, so a booking can be matched to it | 90 days |
oai-calculator (session storage, not a cookie) |
This website (only once you've moved a slider on the calculator) | Keeps the figures you entered while you're on the site, so the calculator and the home page can show them. It stays in your browser unless you choose Email me this result or Download as PDF | Until you close the tab, or press Start again |
_gcl_ls (local storage, not a cookie) |
Google Ads (only if you accept marketing cookies) | A copy of the ad click's reference kept in your browser's storage, so a booking can be matched to it | Until cleared |
Your rights
You can ask to see what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email [email protected]. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
The cookies in use, and your choice
This list comes from Cookiebot, which checks the site each month. You can change your choice here at any time, or with Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.
